Social media video production, shot in batches for every feed

One shoot day gives you weeks of vertical video: hooks, product shots, talking heads and behind-the-scenes, each cut for Reels, TikTok, Shorts and LinkedIn.

Colt Concepts handles social media video production in batches: one planned shoot day turns into weeks of Reels, TikToks and Shorts, each cut for the platform it runs on. You get a steady supply of vertical video without booking a crew every time you need a post.

01 Batch: How does one shoot day become weeks of posts?

We plan every concept before the camera comes out, then shoot them all in one session. A batch day starts with a content plan: the hooks you want to test, the products or people to feature and the posting calendar the videos have to fill.

On the day we move from setup to setup without resetting the whole room. Talking-head hooks, product B-roll, walk-and-talks and behind-the-scenes moments all come from the same block of time. Then the edit splits each idea into the versions each feed needs. That's the batch model, and it's why the cost per post drops as the plan gets bigger.

02 Platforms: How do you cut video for each platform?

Each platform gets its own cut, not one export stretched to fit. Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts get vertical masters with burned-in captions and the hook in the opening frames. LinkedIn gets a version paced for people watching at work, usually captioned for sound-off viewing.

We frame on set with every crop in mind, so nothing important sits where a caption or button covers it. For the details, see our guides on filming vertical video for Reels and export settings for web and social.

03 Ads: Can the same footage run as organic posts and paid ads?

Yes. We plan organic posts and paid ads from the same shoot, so one day of footage feeds both. Organic posts show you what people actually watch, and the strongest of them become ad creative with a tighter hook and a clear call to action.

That loop is how we work with VV Sourcing: we shoot and edit 33+ ads a month for them. If you want us to run the ads too, see paid advertising.

04 Price: Monthly content or a one-off batch: what does each cost?

Monthly content starts at $2,500/mo, and a one-off social video starts at $1,500. Choose monthly if you post every week and want new footage on a schedule. Choose a batch shoot if you need a set of videos for a launch, a season or a test.

Your quote depends on how many concepts, locations and platforms the plan covers. You'll see the full scope before we book a date.

  • Social/short-form video: starting at $1,500
  • Half shoot day: starting at $1,500
  • Full shoot day: starting at $3,000
  • Monthly content: starting at $2,500/mo

05 Prep: What do we need from you before a batch day?

We need four things before a batch day: access, products, people and a posting calendar. Settling them a week ahead means the shoot day goes on filming, not on waiting.

We turn those into a shot list and a running order, and send it before the day so there are no surprises.

  • Access. The location, the time window and anyone who has to sign off on filming there.
  • Products. Everything you want featured, clean and ready, with spares for anything that gets used up on camera.
  • People. Who's on camera, when they're free and what they're comfortable saying. Short talking points work better than memorized lines.
  • Posting calendar. The dates, launches and offers the videos need to cover, so the plan fills real slots instead of guessing.

06 Measure: How do we measure what's working?

We judge each video by whether people keep watching and act on it, not by whether we like it. After each batch goes out, we look at which hooks held attention, which formats drew comments or clicks, and which posts are worth putting money behind.

We review each batch by looking at where viewers dropped off, which opening lines kept them past the first few seconds, what people said in the comments and which posts were saved or shared. A hook that works gets new versions with different openings. A format that stalls gets cut or reworked.

Those answers shape the next shoot plan: more of what works, fewer of what doesn't. Our short-form video strategy guide walks through the same process.

Social and short-form video starts at $1,500. A half shoot day starts at $1,500 and a full day at $3,000. Monthly content starts at $2,500/mo.

It depends on the format mix, so we plan the count with you before the shoot. Talking-head hooks and quick product cuts stretch further than scripted scenes, and every concept gets cut for each platform you post on.

As long as the idea needs and no longer. Open with the point in the first second or two, cut anything that doesn't move it forward, and check each platform's current length limits before you post.

Post as often as you can keep quality up. A steady cadence you can hold for months beats a burst you can't, which is why we plan batches around a posting calendar.

Yes. We plan organic posts and paid ads from the same shoot, so the strongest posts can become ad creative with a tighter hook and a clear call to action.
